1. Supported Products and System Requirements
• ASUS Safeguard Backup requires a computer to have two SSDs.
• ASUS Safeguard Backup supports ASUS Commercial computers such as. For more information, please visit ASUS Global.
• Safeguard Backup is pre-installed as requested.
2. First time entering Safeguard Backup
Search for ①[Safeguard Backup] in the search bar and click to open ②[Safeguard Backup].

(2) Click ③[Agree].

(3) Select the ④[Hard Drive] you want to use for backup, select ⑤[Partition], and click ⑥[Next].
Safeguard Backup will occupy the selected partition (this partition will be hidden). If your hard drive has a large capacity, you can choose to partition it, using only a portion for Safeguard Backup backups, while using the rest for daily use. (4) Click ⑦ [Proceed].
This operation will completely erase the data in the selected partition. Please ensure that this data has been backed up before proceeding. Please operate with caution.

3. Start Using Safeguard Backup
(1) If you have not used the ASUS Safeguard Backup feature before, please select ①[Start a new backup] and then click ②[Next].

(2) For first-time use, you need to set ③[a password] for the backup file, then click ④[Enter].

(3) To avoid forgetting your password, you can use ⑤[Security question] to recover it. After setting it up, please click ⑥[Submit].

(1) Click ①[Add].

(2) You can select ②[File or Folder] to back up your files. A new pop-up window will appear for you to choose. Using Folder as an example, click ③[Folder], then click ④[Select Folder].

(3) After you click ⑤[Back up now], your data backup will start.
⑥[Finished backup] shows the most recent backup time and the default next scheduled automatic backup time.
For automatic backup settings, please click ⑦[Advanced Settings].

If you have replaced your computer or your operating system was unexpectedly damaged, you may need to use the Import a backup feature.
There are two scenarios.
- Scenario 1: If your data was backed up as described in the 4. Start Backup section, and your operating system is unexpectedly damaged, after you reinstall the OS and download ASUS Safeguard Backup, you will be prompted to enter your password and can then use it directly.
- Scenario 2: If your data was manually backed up as an .sgi file and stored on another partition that is not used by ASUS Safeguard Backup, then after replacing your computer or reinstalling the OS, you need to select Import a backup when you start ASUS Safeguard Backup.
(1) Using Scenario 2 as an example, when you first open ASUS Safeguard Backup, please select ①[Import a backup], then click ②[Next].

(2) Click ②[Select], choose the ③[.sgi] file, click ④[Open], then click ⑤[Import].

(3) The import will start. The time required may vary depending on the file size.

(4) After the import is complete, you need to enter the password you set previously to continue.

(1) Click ①[Restore]. In the ②[Timeline], you can view previous backup points. Select the ③[File or Folder] you want to restore, then click ④[Restore this backup]. Choose ⑤[Source path or New Path], and then click ⑥[Restore].

(2) If files with the same name already exist in the restore location, the system will prompt you to choose ⑦[Keep all files or replace these files], then click ⑧[Continue] to proceed with the restore.

(3) The restore has started. The restore speed depends on the file size.

Click ①[Settings], click ②[Advanced], and click ③[Export] to package and save all backup data as an .sgi file. ④[Packaging] has started. The packaging speed depends on the file size.
*Export all backups makes it easier to transfer files securely. If you replace your computer or reinstall the operating system, refer to 3.3 Import a backup in this article to quickly restore your data.

Click ①[Settings], click ②[Advanced], select the ③[Backup schedule] you want, then click ④[Apply] to set up automatic backups.
*Automatic backups require your PC to stay powered on, connected to a power supply, and with Windows automatic sleep disabled.

7. How to Download and Update ASUS Safeguard Backup
※ When updates are available, simply connect to the internet. After you open ASUS Safeguard Backup, it will automatically update online.
To install ASUS Safeguard Backup, please go to the ASUS Global, click ①[Search] to search for your computer model, then click ②[Support], click ③[Driver & Tools], and click ④[One-Click driver download and install] to install automatically.

Q1: Can I purchase ASUS Safeguard Backup separately?
A1: No. Safeguard Backup is pre-installed as requested. If you have any questions, please contact your reseller or an ASUS Service Center.
Q2: What happens if I forget my password?
A2: If you forget your password, you can still recover it using the security question/hint. If you forget that as well, the backed-up data can no longer be accessed.
Q3: Can the partition used by Safeguard Backup no longer be used?
A3: Yes. This is for data security reasons.
