[NUC] Error Message: "Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or the disk may be locked by another process" Encountered When Running chkdsk Command

Resolution

The issue is caused by attempting to run chkdsk at a command prompt without Administrator Privileges.

Follow these steps to resolve the permission issue:

Stop the application first or reboot the computer in safe mode to ensure nothing is using the drive.
Click Start
Type "cmd" in the Search box.
Right click on Command Prompt
Left click on Run as administrator.
Execute chkdsk [volume]
