[NUC] Thunderbolt™ Device Isn’t Recognized When Plugged into the NUC

Resolution

Install the latest software for your system from Download Center:

Go to Download Center
Search for your model number (example, NUC11PHKi7C)
Download and update the latest BIOS and Thunderbolt™ driver.

Note

It may be useful to install the BIOS first and shutdown the system, power back on and continue updating any additional drivers
If you have the NUC8i7HNK or NUC8i7HVK, install that latest USB Type C Power Delivery Controller driver from Download Center.

If this does not resolve the issue, try the following:

Check the Thunderbolt option in BIOS:

Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
Check that the Thunderbolt Controller is enabled.
Press F10 to save and exit BIOS Setup.

Use a certified Thunderbolt™ 3 cable that is 60 cm or shorter as this can be a factor.
