[NUC] Thunderbolt™ Device Isn’t Recognized When Plugged into the NUC

Resolution

Install the latest software for your system from Download Center:

  1. Go to Download Center
  2. Search for your model number (example, NUC11PHKi7C)
  3. Download and update the latest BIOS and Thunderbolt™ driver.
Note
  • It may be useful to install the BIOS first and shutdown the system, power back on and continue updating any additional drivers
  • If you have the NUC8i7HNK or NUC8i7HVK, install that latest USB Type C Power Delivery Controller driver from Download Center.

If this does not resolve the issue, try the following:

  • Check the Thunderbolt option in BIOS:
  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
  3. Check that the Thunderbolt Controller is enabled.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit BIOS Setup.
  • Use a certified Thunderbolt™ 3 cable that is 60 cm or shorter as this can be a factor.
