ZenBook has always been renowned for its unique, stunning looks, and you’ll instantly recognize the iconic Zen-inspired spun-metal finish on ZenBook 3’s all-metal unibody chassis. The classic Zen-inspired spun-metal finish is even finer and more detailed, the result of a complex 40-step process that now includes an extra polishing step using an ultra-fine abrasive. And we’ve added a beautiful twist, using a special dual-phase anodizing process to create stunning golden edge highlights. To complete this sophisticated new theme, we’ve added a unique golden ASUS logo on the lid and given the keyboard a matching gold-hued backlight.

The ultra-thin 11.9mm profile meant we had to invent the world’s most compact laptop hinge — just 3.0mm high — to preserve its sleek lines. This amazing hinge ensures a smooth, seamless and hassle-free action without spoiling ZenBook 3’s gorgeous appearance.
Stronger by design: aerospace-grade alloy
To achieve its amazing lightness without compromising structural strength, ZenBook 3 is precision-crafted from 6013 aluminum alloy, a premium material that is 50% stronger than the 6063 alloy often used in standard laptops. 6013 aluminum alloy is more commonly used in automotive and aerospace applications. This material is also supremely elegant and features the signature ZenBook spun-metal finish.

ZenBook 3 introduces our very first laptop display covered with full edge-to-edge Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4. The ultra-slim bezel is just 7.6mm wide, giving ZenBook 3 a class-leading 82% screen-to-body ratio. More importantly, it gives you a distraction-free view of the stunning 12.5-inch Full HD screen. With its wide 178° viewing angles, superb color reproduction and crisp detail with 300nits brightness, it really does need to be seen to be believed.

To keep the display lightweight and ultra-slim, yet tough, we covered it with just 0.4mm of super-strong Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4, which is twice as thin as standard cover glass. ASUS Splendid technology enhances ZenBook 3’s display to give it richer and deeper colors for a stunning visual experience. The multiple preset modes (Normal / Theater / Vivid / Manual / Eye Care) give you complete and instant control for any type of content. ASUS Splendid panels are configured at the factory to show the most accurate colors possible for the best viewing experience. But we realize that sometimes you might need to change this — for example to add a bit of a ‘Wow!’ factor to your photos or videos. For this reason, we’ve included three other selectable modes — Eye Care, Vivid and Manual — alongside the standard Normal mode.

ASUS Tru2Life video technology makes your videos look amazing. Using intelligent software that optimizes every pixel in every video frame, you’ll enjoy the best possible image quality. The smart algorithms in ASUS Tru2Life analyze the brightness histogram for each video pixel in each frame, then intelligently adjust the brightness and black level values, as well as optimizing over one million sharpness values per frame. This can improve the contrast by up to 200%, bringing out hidden detail in dark areas while keeping bright areas as brilliant as ever!
