[GlideX] How can I improve Remote Play performance?
Remote Play streaming performance may be affected by game workload, system resource usage, in-game graphics settings, and other background programs. When performance is low, you may experience choppy visuals, increased latency, or reduced image quality.
If you encounter the situations above, please try the following in order:
1. Make sure both devices are connected to power
Please ensure that the device running the game is connected to a suitable power adapter with sufficient wattage. If the device is running on battery power or the adapter wattage is insufficient, the device may reduce performance, which can affect Remote Play smoothness.
2. Close unnecessary background programs
Close any currently unused games, recording/streaming software, browsers, or other programs that consume system resources so Remote Play has sufficient resources for streaming.
3. Lower in-game graphics quality
Try lowering the game’s resolution, texture quality, shadows, lighting effects, or other graphics settings to reduce system resource usage. It is recommended to adjust one item at a time and check whether Remote Play smoothness improves.
4. Make sure Vertical Sync (VSync) is enabled
Enabling VSync may help improve Remote Play performance for some games. Please check the VSync settings both in-game and in your graphics control panel:
- Open the graphics control panel (NVIDIA Control Panel, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, or Intel Graphics Command Center), find the “Vertical sync” setting (called “Wait for Vertical Refresh” in AMD), and make sure it is not set to “Off”. It is recommended to set it to “On” or “Use the application setting”.
- If the game provides a VSync option, go to the game’s “Display”, “Video”, or “Graphics” settings to enable VSync and apply the changes. Some games may require a restart for the changes to take effect.
5. Re-run the game’s automatic performance benchmark
Some games automatically recommend suitable graphics settings based on current PC performance. If the game provides an auto benchmark or optimization feature, please:
- Start Remote Play first.
- Then run the game’s performance benchmark.
- Apply the recommended settings.
This allows the game to evaluate based on the actual system status while Remote Play is running.
6. Restart Remote Play and the game
End the current Remote Play session, close the game, then restart and check whether performance is restored.
If the performance issue only occurs in a specific game, you can also check whether there are updates available for that game, or compare whether other games have the same issue.
Remote Play performance may vary depending on the game, PC hardware, game settings, and overall system usage.
