[Wireless] How to fix laptop wireless card driver can't find router's wireless SSID (for 802.11ax routers)?

If the Intel® wireless adapter you are using is listed below, please upgrade your driver to Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software version = 20.70.0 (or higher version) to resolve the connectivity issues in 802.11ax routers.

 

 

How to check the model name of your WLAN Card?

Search Device Manager in Windows search box-> Click on Network Adapters, and you will see the model name of your WLAN card.

 

 

If your WLAN card is listed in the table above, please follow the steps below to update your WLAN card driver for your PC/notebook.

Step 1. Visit Intel®Download Center and click Wireless Networking.

 

Step 2. Confirm your Windows® operating system first and find the latest driver version 20.70.0 (or higher version).

 

 

Step 3. Check whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit, and click to download the corresponding driver to your PC/notebook. Please read the detailed description marked in the red box to make sure you have a successful installation.

 

Step 4. Click on [I accept the terms in the license agreement.]

 

Step 5. Find the .exe/.zip file in the [Download] folder, and double click on the file to launch the installation, and choose [Yes] in this pop-up window.

 

Step 6. Follow the instructions to finish the installation.

Step 7. Go to your [Device Manager] in your PC/notebook, find [Network Adapters] and click [Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC7260] to check if your driver version is the same as the information displayed in the red box(on the right) in Step 3.
