[NUC] How to Output Dolby Atmos* on NUC 8 Home Mini PC NUC8i3CYSM

Resolution

NUC8i3CYSM supports Dolby Atmos (see page18: Dolby TrueHD bitstreaming contains Dolby Atmos). This audio technology depends on the configuration settings of the media player application and amplifier.

  1. Enable the HDMI passthrough on the third party media player.
    • This will need to be validated with the software developer.
    • If third-party PotPlayer* is used: Settings > Audio > Audio Processing Settings > Set Build-in Audio Decoder > Check Enable (Pass-through/Bitstreaming) > Click OK
  2. Set the Speakers to Same as Input.
    • Settings > Audio > Speakers
  3. Do not use the LAV Filter.
    • Only use the PotPlayer's built-in filter
  1. Disable Fixed PCM in the amplifier Settings.
