[NUC] Yellow USB Port Causes Restart on NUC Kits NUC8i7HVK and NUC8i7HNK
Resolution
The NUC Kits NUC8i7HVK and NUC8i7HNK include a digital microphone array (DMIC) with four digital microphones located across the front of the device. The DMIC implements a far-field algorithm to minimize acoustic interference.
After heavy use, the spring retention clips that are part of the yellow USB 3.0 charging port could make contact with colored wires of the DMIC located above it. This could damage the DMIC. If the clips come in contact with the 1.8 V red wire, it could short. This could cause the device to reboot.
