[AI Router] Integrate AI Router Information into Home Assistant

See the Home Assistant Dashboard after setup!

You can view real-time network status, connected devices, traffic stats, CPU, and memory usage—all from your Home Assistant dashboard!

 

 

 

 

1. Create a Dashboard

    1. Since you'll want to display router info on a dedicated dashboard, it's best to create one first.

    2. In Home Assistant, go to the main screen and click [Settings] > [Dashboards] in the lower left.

    3. Click [Add Dashboard] in the lower right and choose custom mode.

    4. Enter a name (e.g., Dashboard) and click Create.

 

 

 

2. Add ASUS Router to Home Assistant

    1. In Home Assistant, go to the main screen and click [Settings] > [Devices & Services] in the lower left

    2. Click [Add Integration] in the lower right, search for [ASUSWRT], and select it.

    3. Enter your router's IP address and login credentials, then follow the prompts to complete setup.

    4. Once set up, you'll see router status, connected devices, and traffic info in Home Assistant.

 

 

 

3. Add to Dashboard

    1. In the previous step, click [Add to Dashboard] under each feature you want to display.

    2. In the pop-up window, select the dashboard you just created and click [Add].

    3. Now you can see all router info on your dashboard!

 

 

 

Advanced Control: Use HACS to Install AsusRouter Module

Want more custom features (like auto-reboot, traffic alerts, or device connection notifications)? Install the community AsusRouter module via HACS to unlock advanced controls!

Before starting this section, please complete the HACS installation guide

    1. In HACS, search for [AsusRouter], select the community module, and install it.

    2. You'll see the module's info page—read it carefully, then click [Download] in the lower right.

    3. Restart Home Assistant: After downloading, go to the [Settings] page. You'll see a prompt to restart Home Assistant. Click [System], then the restart button in the upper right.

    4. Add AsusRouter Integration: Go to [Settings] > [Devices & Services] > [Add Integration], search for ASUS, and you'll see the new AsusRouter module.

 

    5. Follow the module instructions to complete setup: You'll need to enter your router's IP, username, and password as prompted.

 

    6. Once complete, you'll see new controllers and sensors—add them to your dashboard for even more detail and control.

    7. Open your dashboard to see all the new router info and control options!
