In Windows 10, WinRE is a recovery environment that can help repair many problems that cause operating systems to become unbootable. ASUS goes the extra mile and gives you the MyASUS in WinRE tool, which works inside WinRE to perform a thorough hardware check. Here's how to access MyASUS in WinRE:
From within Windows
From power off
Shift + Restart
Click Start, then click Power, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking Restart. Your PC will shut down and then reboot into WinRE. Once you are in WinRE, select MyASUS in WinRE.
Power + F123
With your PC turned off, turn on the PC via the power button. When the ASUS logo appears, press the F12 key several times, until the message ‘Please wait' is displayed.
Effortless component test, anytime
You can select the hardware component you want to diagnose from a list that includes hard disk drives, fans, WiFi, RAM, displays and more. The MyASUS in WinRE tool makes it easy for anyone to do a thorough hardware check on your PC anytime, anywhere.
Instant test reports
After each component test is complete, an instant test report is generated — you can then quickly identify what any potential hardware issues. Reports are automatically saved to create a scan history for you or the repair engineer to check.
QR Code for seamless support
If any of the component tests fail, MyASUS in WinRE generates a QR code for worry-free assistance. Scan the QR code with your phone, and your product serial number is automatically sent to the online Service Request system. You can then generate an RMA number with the test results attached.4 This will allow support engineers to bring the correct components for replacement, or guide you to the nearest ASUS service center for seamless support.
