ASUS PRIME Z790-A Review?
The board certainly deserves our recommendation, and we won't spoil it there, but right now it's smarter to buy the Prime Z690-A - hurry while they're still available.
In particular, the board on the test will not make you harakiri with your wallet, which is very positive, and I would even say that it is a much better bet than e.g. of some AM5 boards in this price range.

"I think the Prime X299 Edition 30 deserves our gold award for several reasons. I've tested many X299 motherboards and this is probably, if not the best of them despite its excessive price and weird market position. It also earns points for being a nice commemorative piece and something that's going to be a limited edition whether that was intentional or not. It's not perfect, but it's about as close as I've seen from any other motherboard model.”

... there is an automatic fastening mechanism for each port, which is typically the kind of detail ASUS usually detaches itself from. Like its button to pull out a long graphics card easily when the access to the PCIe 16X slot button is completely hidden by the said GPU.
