[ExpertWiFi] How to update the firmware of ExpertWiFi router? (WebGUI)

Update router firmware regularly can ensure your router has the latest security updates and in optimal condition.

You can refer to this article to update router firmware manually by using WEB GUI.

Note: When a new firmware version contains important functional changes and bug fixes to ensure the stable operation of the router, your router will be automatically upgraded to a new version when the router is connected to the Internet.  
 

 

Method1: Firmware Live update through Web GUI

1. Connect to the ExpertWiFi router using wired connection or wireless connection. Open your web browser and enter your router's LAN IP address or the ExpertWiFi router address http://expertwifi.net to access the ExpertWiFi Web GUI. 

Enter your ExpertWiFi router username and password, then click on the Login button.

2. Go to [Setting]> [Administration]> [Firmware Upgrade]
 

3. Click [Check] and the router will check whether there is any new firmware released.  If there is new firmware on the server, the router will automatically update to the new firmware.
 

4. Please do not shut down your ExpertWiFi router during the firmware download and update process.
 

 

 

Method2: Upgrade firmware manually

1. Download the latest version of the firmware for your router from the ASUS Website https://www.asus.com/support/

    Here takes EBM68 as an example, you can find the firmware list from the support page and download it to your computer.

 

2. Download the firmware file and unzip it.

 

3. Connect your computer to the router via cable or Wi-Fi and then access to Web GUI via router LAN IP or router URL http://expertwifi.net to the WEB GUI.
 
 Enter your ExpertWiFi router username and password, then click on the Login button.
 

4. Go to [Setting]> [Administration]> [Firmware Upgrade]
 

5. Click upload and choose the file you just downloaded then the router will start the upgrade process.
 


6. Please do not shut down your ExpertWiFi router during the firmware download and update process.

1. Do I need to restore the router to the factory default settings after updating the firmware?
    It is recommended that you restore the router factory default settings after updating the firmware.
