[Armoury Crate/ GearLink] New Audio Processing Engine

A new audio processing algorithm is now live! Check out the upgraded surround sound rendering for optimized directional cues, sharper details, and a hyper-realistic 360° soundstage.

 

Important Installation Requirements
To fully activate the new audio engine across all platforms, please complete the following steps:

*Use GearLink or Armoury Crate update to expand functionality*

 

Note: If this feature is only used in one software, you only need to update the relevant components of that software.

Note: If you want to use this feature in both software, make sure to update the components of Gear Link and Armoury Crate to the latest versions. This ensures that audio-related functions work properly in both applications.

 

1. GearLink Update： 

Install the latest version of Gear Link Audio Companion to enable the new algorithm core.

Step 1: After connecting the device, click the expansion feature at the top right corner.
Example: ROG DELTA II

Step 2: Go to the Companion page, locate the Audio Expansion feature, and make sure the version is 1.0.0.18 or above.

Step 3: Click Download, then follow the steps in Chapter 5 “Gear Link Companion” of [Gear Link FAQ] to complete the installation.

 

Note:
In updates following the GearLink audio device extension Audio Companion v1.00.18, the virtual surround sound processing engine has been upgraded. This upgrade aims to enhance the precision and positional accuracy of spatial audio, while also establishing a technical foundation for upcoming advanced features (including parameter adjustments such as soundstage distance and intensity).
If you notice a difference in your listening experience after the update, it is typically related to the following situations:
 

  • If audio features such as virtual surround sound, bass boost, and reverb were enabled prior to the update, the upgraded engine's processing logic has been adjusted, which may result in a slightly different listening experience. We recommend re-adjusting the audio parameters according to your personal preference.
  • If all audio features are turned off, the audio performance should remain identical to how it sounded before the update.

 

2. Armoury Crate SDK Update：

Step 1: Go to “About”

Step 2: Click the “Check” button to view the AudioSDK version.

Step 3: Ensure your AudioSDK version is updated to v3.02.14 or later.

 

If the AudioSDK needs to be updated, follow the steps below.

Step 4: Go to the “Update Center” in Armoury Crate and make sure the headset device SDK is updated to the latest version.

In updates following the ROG Armoury Crate audio device SDK v3.02.14, the virtual surround sound processing engine has been upgraded. This upgrade aims to enhance the precision and positional accuracy of spatial audio, while also establishing a technical foundation for upcoming advanced features (including parameter adjustments such as soundstage distance and intensity).
If you notice a difference in your listening experience after the update, it is typically related to the following situations:
