[Desktop] Troubleshooting - Unable to Boot After Installing a Non-Windows Operating System

If your computer fails to boot properly after installing a non-Windows operating system, the issue can often be resolved by adjusting the Secure Boot settings in the BIOS. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Enter the BIOS Setup.
With the computer completely powered off, press and hold the [F2] or [Del] key on your keyboard, then press the Power button to turn on the system. Release the key once the BIOS screen appears.
  2. After entering the BIOS, press [F7] on your keyboard or select [Advanced Mode] on the screen.
Note: The BIOS interface may vary slightly depending on your device model.
  3. Go to the [Boot] tab and select [Secure Boot].
  4. Under [OS Type], choose [Other OS].
Note: If you intend to install a Windows operating system, set this option to “Windows UEFI mode”.
  5. Save and Reset.
Press [F10], then select [Ok] to save the changes and reboot. Alternatively, go to the Exit menu and select Save Changes and Reset.

If the issue persists, it is recommended that you visit an authorized ASUS service center for further inspection and assistance.
