ASUS Announces BR1204 Series

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan 24, 2024 — ASUS today announced the ASUS BR1204 series of stand-out ruggedized laptops for limitless learning in K-12 education — ready for the classroom and beyond.

Smartly crafted to withstand accidental drops, the all-new BR1204 laptops undergo rigorous testing, meeting US military-grade standards¹ and exacting in-house ASUS assessments to ensure unwavering durability — making them the perfect choice for modern education. They also boast a durable fingerprint-resistant finish and robust modular design that incorporates replaceable internal components, further extending product lifespan.

The BR1204 series is available in both clamshell form (BR1204C) for a traditional laptop experience and a flip design (BR1204F), which benefits from a display that rotates through a full 360° for exceptional versatility and productivity potential.

Ultimate ruggedized design

ASUS BR1204-series laptops are dependable and robust 12.2-inch study companions that are engineered to handle the rigors of daily use. Exhaustively tested to meet the demanding US MIL-STD-810H military-grade standard, these new machines deliver proven durability, minimizing the risk of damage or need for costly hardware repairs. Key laptop surfaces including the top cover, palm rest and sides of the keyboard are coated with a durable, fingerprint-resistant finish that’s easy to keep clean. In fact, the considered design specifically caters to the needs and deeds of young students, with features like a spill-resistant keyboard that’s capable of handling spills of up to 405 cc without damage — minimizing worries about spilt water during study periods.

Learning essentials for classroom and beyond

The new ASUS BR1204 laptops are equipped with everything a modern student might demand from a learning laptop. The option of clamshell or flip form factors means there’s a device for diverse student demands and education scenarios. Touchscreen functionality is optional with BR1204C, and a standard feature with BR1204F. The BR1104C and BR1104F models are available with an 11.6-inch display.

For focused communications and learning, the BR1204 series incorporates advanced ASUS AI-powered noise-cancelation technology that isolates unwanted background noise from human speech. The new machines also feature a noise-reducing camera that effectively removes up to 94% of random interference, especially in low-light conditions.

BR1204F in particular has two cameras: one standard webcam, plus a special world-facing, high-resolution camera located just above the keyboard — an ideal position that makes the device easier to hold in portrait mode. This model also features a 360° hinge design and fast-charging garaged stylus³ , offering a convenient and efficient tool for note-taking and artistic pursuits for young students. A quick 15-second charge of the stylus gives the user up to 45 minutes of use.

Smooth remote-learning experiences are also assured, with built-in WiFi 6E and optional 4G LTE connectivity. Moreover, to keep young students hygienic, the keyboard, touchpad and palm rest of these thoughtfully-engineered laptops are all protected with ASUS Antimicrobial Guard technology⁴ . They’re also designed to endure alcohol-based cleaning products, contributing to the prolonged cleanliness and sanitation of its surface areas⁵ .

The bright, clear displays are TÜV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light emissions, ensuring excellent eye protection and minimizing eyestrain during extended use.

¹The testing regime includes the requirements of both military-grade standards and ASUS quality tests, and varies depending on device. MIL-STD-810H testing is conducted on selected ASUS products only. Water damage is possible if the product is submerged or exposed to large amounts of water for long periods of time. R = 2 indicates a 99% reduction in bacterial activity compared to an untreated surface. ⁵ASUS internal tests show that ASUS BR1204F can be safely cleaned and wiped with alcohol from a spray bottle.
