[Wireless Router] How to set up Family(Parental Controls) via ASUS Router App?

What is Family(Parental Controls)?
Family(Parental Controls) restricts your children's Internet usage and prevent them from staying up late or getting distracted from doing their homework.
Prepare
1. Please first confirm that your router supports Parental Controls features. You can visit the ASUS official website to check the detailed specifications.
The image below is an example of the specifications from the official website.

2. Please update your router firmware to the latest version.

3. Please install the ASUS router app on your smart phone device first. Please make sure your ASUS Router App version is up to date.

You can set up your ASUS router via ASUS Router app.
Set up Family(Parental Controls)
1. Please connect your phone to WiFi network name(SSID) of the router.
2. Execute the ASUS Router app.

3. Go to [Settings] > [Family], select a level to configure different access rules to guard your family member's Internet safety.

4. Take School-aged child for example. Set your member's name and click [NEXT].

5. Select device name and click [NEXT].

6. Select time scheduling mode and click [Done].
- Setup Offline Schedule: Configure offline schedule times when the Internet is unavailable.
- Setup Online Schedule: Configure online schedule times for device Internet access.
Note: [Setup Online Schedule] feature is only supported by certain models. If your router does not support this feature, please skip this step.

7. Take Setup Offline Schedule for example.
You can quickly set up two offline schedules and click [NEXT]

8. Content block.
Red icon is a network service that cannot be used.
Gray icon is a network service that can be used.
Click [Apply] to save the setting.
Note: This feature is only supported on selected models. If your router does not support this function, please skip this step.

9. Setup is complete.

Set up Reward Time (Only supported on selected models.)
Click [ Reward ] button on kid's profile and select the time period.

FAQ
1. Why don't I see [ Reward Time ] and [ Setup Online Schedule ] function& in the ASUS router app?

The [Reward Time] and [Setup Online Schedule] features are only supported on certain models, you can visit the ASUS official website to check the detailed specifications.
If support is confirmed, please make sure that your router firmware and the ASUS Router App are updated to the latest versions.

2. When my device (such as a phone or computer) is currently set to be offline (restricted from internet access), can it still access the router's settings page to make configurations?
Yes, the parental control on the computer only prevents the device from accessing the internet during specific times, but it can still connect to the router and enter the settings page after entering the router username and password.
3. Why the Internet doesn't offline or online according to the rules I set in time scheduling?
a. Please check if system time is the same with your time zone, please refer to FAQ How to check ASUS router system time and set up NTP server
b. Please check that you selected the correct client device name
c. Please make sure your router is upgraded to latest firmware, please refer to FAQ How to update the firmware of your router to the latest version via ASUS Router App
d. If firmware upgrade does not help, please reset your router to factory default status, please refer to FAQ How to reset the router to factory default setting
4. How to block specific devices from accessing specific/malicious websites?
ASUS routers currently do not support website blocking on specific devices(e.g. phone, laptop).

5. I can use parent control in the router mode, but why I can't find it when change router to AP mode?
The parent control is available in router mode only, due to NAT function and relevant management was dealing by primary AP (router/modem, etc.) in other kinds of operation mode.
