[Motherboard / Graphics Card] Installation Guide and Precautions for BTF Series
Installation Notes for Using BTF Series Motherboards / BTF Series Graphics Cards?
【Applicable Products】:BTF series motherboards / graphics cards
BTF series graphics cards feature a high-power GC-HPWR gold-finger connector, allowing the motherboard to supply up to 600W of power without using a 16-pin power connector on the graphics card.
This enables a fully hidden-connector PC build experience.
Below are the installation considerations for different scenarios.
For detailed BTF information and a list of supported motherboard and graphics card models by version, please refer to the official website:

【BTF 1.0】
BTF 1.0 is supported only on motherboards. The supported models can be checked on the official BTF website.
BTF hidden-connector motherboards place all connectors on the back of the motherboard, moving existing cable connections to the rear to achieve a hidden-connector design.
Refer to the illustration below:

Example:
Motherboard:TUF GAMING B760M-BTF WIFI
Installation method:Refer to the motherboard user manual for this model and connect the cables to the corresponding rear-side connectors.

【BTF 2.0】
Motherboard provides GC-HPWR slot / Graphics card has no 16-pin power connector.
Since the graphics card does not have a 16-pin power connector, BTF series graphics cards must be used with a BTF 2.0 motherboard.
Example:
Motherboard:ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO BTF
Graphics Card:ROG-STRIX-RTX4090-O24G-BTF-GAMING
Installation method:
1. Ensure the PCIe slot and GC-HPWR gold-finger connector are correctly aligned and connected to the GC-HPWR position on the BTF 2.0 motherboard.

2. Because the GC-HPWR motherboard connector supports up to 600W, the graphics card does not require an additional 16-pin power connection.

3.Refer to the motherboard user manual to connect cables to the corresponding rear-side connectors.

【BTF 2.5】
Motherboard provides GC-HPWR slot / Graphics card includes a 16-pin power connector and a detachable GC-HPWR.
BTF 2.5 graphics cards feature a detachable GC-HPWR and also include a 16-pin power connector, allowing them to be flexibly used with standard (non-BTF) motherboards with fewer limitations.
Below are installation notes for different motherboard and graphics card combinations:
Scenario 1:Using a non-BTF motherboard with a BTF 2.5 graphics card
Example:
Motherboard:ROG CROSSHAIR X870E EXTREME (non-BTF motherboard)
Graphics Card:ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-O32G-BTF-GAMING
Installation method:
1.Remove the GC-HPWR connector and properly install the graphics card into the PCIe slot.
(Note: Avoid contact with foreign objects to prevent short circuits.)

2.Connect the 16-pin power cable to the graphics card.
(Ensure the 16-pin power cable is fully inserted into the PCIe power port on the graphics card so that the plastic latch on top of the connector is securely locked.)

Scenario 2:Using a BTF 2.5 motherboard with a BTF 2.5 graphics card
Example:
Motherboard:ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO BTF
Graphics Card:ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-O32G-BTF-GAMING
Installation method:
1.Ensure the PCIe slot and GC-HPWR gold-finger connector are correctly aligned and connected to the GC-HPWR position on the BTF 2.5 motherboard.
(Note: Avoid contact with foreign objects to prevent short circuits.)

2.Because the GC-HPWR motherboard connector supports up to 600W, the graphics card does not require an additional 16-pin power connection.
(The motherboard GC-HPWR slot, motherboard rear 16-pin power connector, or graphics card 16-pin power connector can be used based on the user’s cable management preference.)
Scenario 3:Using ROG-MATRIX-RTX5090-P32G-30TH,Since the 30th Anniversary Edition graphics card supports up to 800W maximum power output, it must be used with a BTF 2.5 motherboard that provides a 16-pin power connector.
Example:A BTF 2.5–series motherboard paired with a 30th Anniversary Edition graphics card
Motherboard:ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO BTF
Graphics Card:Using ROG-MATRIX-RTX5090-P32G-30TH
Installation method:
1.Ensure the PCIe slot and GC-HPWR gold-finger connector are correctly aligned and connected to the GC-HPWR position on the BTF 2.5 motherboard.

2.Connect the 16-pin power cable to the rear-side 16-pin power connector on the motherboard to support up to 800W GPU power output.
(As shown in the illustration below, item (7) indicates the 16-pin power connector.)
