ASUS Receives Nine Accolades at the 2022 Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design

TAIPEI, Taiwan, August 29, 2022 - ASUS today announced that it won nine accolades at the prestigious 2022 Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design event across various categories including Digital Solutions, Films & Animations, Packaging Designs, as well as User Experience and Packaging Design. Earlier in the year, ASUS won a record-breaking 39 honors at the 2022 Red Dot Award: Product Design ceremony. This shows the commitment from ASUS to create insightful products, with a focus not only on the product design, but around experiences surrounding it, from packaging, to videos and campaigns, to inspire delight and joyful innovations.

Each year, companies across the globe are invited to take part in Red Dot’s Brands & Communication Design Awards. Entries are assessed by the expert Red Dot judging panel based on product design and creative performance. Specifically, for the Brands aspect of the awards, the jury assesses vision and brand values, design and brand communication, and brand identity and differentiation. For Communication Design, the core criteria are originality and creativity, design quality and innovation, and comprehensibility and emotional significance.

This year’s nine-award haul signals the best ever performance for ASUS at the awards, with wins across diverse categories including digital solutions, film and animation, packaging design, as well as interface and user experience. “We are honored to be recognized for our efforts this year, and I am proud of the entire team for striving every day to take ASUS innovation and design to the next level,” said ASUS Chief Design Officer, Mitch Yang. “The ASUS Design Thinking methodology enables us to create products that enable incredible experiences and smart, joyful lives for everyone.”

Full details of the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design achieved by ASUS and Republic of Gamers (ROG) in 2022 are as follows:

Digital Solutions


ASUS won two awards in the Concerts and Events sub category, one for the ASUS WOW THE WORLD Online Launch Event, showcasing brand-new Vivobook products with an impressive virtual stage, and another for the ROG For Those Who Dare Online Launch Event, with an immersive in-game first person experience with dynamic and responsive content for viewers.

In the Work and Collaboration subcategory, ASUS won for ProArt Creator Hub, an app providing a whole array of efficiency-enhancing digital tools for creators using ProArt products, offering control over ASUS hardware and software creative tools including the ASUS Dial and Control Panel.

Film and Animation, and Advertising


ASUS bagged four awards in the Film and Animation, as well as Advertising categories with animated product videos that showcase the ROG universe and brand story:
  • ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop Series Product Video: This video highlighting the 2022 TUF Gaming laptop series is set in a fictional war-torn and irradiated battlefield world.
  • ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 Product Video: This video for the Zephyrus Duo 16 shows main protagonist SE7EN fighting for freedom against an oppressive government.
  • ROG 2021 Brand Video: In the video, ROG SAGA heroes are called up to fight against an oppressive and conformist power. Outnumbered in the face of an impossible challenge, they band together and finally achieve a real shot at victory.
  • Create with ASUS Campaign Video: Creativity can be found everywhere. Every creator needs their own special laptop that provides the perfect balance between performance, portability, and exceptional features for an efficient workflow.

Packaging Design and Interface and User Experience Design


  • Zenbook Pro X Packaging: Designed with the new ASUS monogram, this 100%recyclable packaging is made out of 90% recycled paper. It can also be used as a laptop stand for a comfortable typing experience.
  • ROG Phone 6 Pro AR unboxing experience: The packaging features a spaceship-inspired design and includes a card that acts as an access pass for an AR experience, where Omni, guardian of ROG city, is attacked by enemy. The player is then called upon to defend the city in this immersive interactive experience.
