*Tablets: This troubleshooting guide is applicable only to cellular models (models with call functions).
If your device is unable to detect your SIM card, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
- Check Airplane Mode: Go to Settings > Network & internet and ensure Airplane mode is turned OFF.
- Reinsert SIM Card: Carefully remove your SIM card, verify its correct orientation, and then reinsert it firmly into the tray.
- Restart Your Device: A simple restart can often resolve temporary software glitches. Try rebooting your device.
- Clean SIM Card Contacts: Gently wipe the metal contacts on your SIM card with a soft eraser to remove any potential dirt or residue, then reinsert it.
- Cross-Test SIM Card and Device:
- Test with another SIM card: If you have another working SIM card, insert it into your device to see if your device can read it.
- Test your SIM card in another device: Insert your SIM card into a different phone or tablet to check if it gets recognized there.
- Important Note: Avoid using SIM card adapters or modified SIM cards, as they can cause damage to your SIM card or device.
- Inspect SIM Card Tray: Check the SIM card tray for any signs of bending, damage, or foreign objects.
- Reset Mobile Network Settings: Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Mobile Network Settings.
- Update System Software: Ensure your device's system software is updated to the latest version. Go to Settings > System > System update and tap Check update.
- Identify Problem Source: These steps should help you determine if the issue lies with your device or the SIM card. If you confirm the SIM card is faulty, please contact your mobile carrier for a replacement or further inspection.
- Perform a Factory Reset (System Restore):
- Warning: This action will erase ALL personal data and settings on your device and restore it to its original factory defaults. Please back up all important data before proceeding.
- Steps: Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) > Erase all data.
