[Mobile Router] How to Enable Dual-WAN Mode on ASUS 5G-GO?
The ASUS 5G-GO supports internet access via Cellular, Ethernet WAN, and WiFi WAN, with flexible combinations.
You can enable and configure Dual-WAN via two methods:
Method 1: Set Up Dual-WAN via Web QIS (Quick Internet Setup)
Recommended for most users who prefer guided configuration.
QIS provides a guided setup process for easy Dual-WAN configuration.
Steps:
1. Connect your device to the ASUS 5G-GO via WiFi or Ethernet
2. Open a browser and go to: http://192.168.10.1
3. Click on QIS on the homepage
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to:
- Select your desired Dual-WAN Mode (e.g., Cellular + Ethernet WAN)
- Configure necessary WAN settings (e.g., Static IP, PPPoE, WiFi credentials)
- Complete the setup and apply changes
Method 2: Manually Configure Dual-WAN via LCD + Web Interface
Use this method if you prefer manual control or need to adjust advanced WAN settings.
Step 1: Select Dual-WAN Mode via LCD
On the device LCD, go to: Settings > Dual-WAN, then choose one of the following modes:
1. Cellular Only
2. Cellular + Ethernet WAN
3. Cellular + WiFi WAN
4. Ethernet WAN Only
5. WiFi WAN Only
Additional configuration may be required on the web interface, especially if the WAN type is not DHCP.
Step 2A: Configure Ethernet WAN (Manual Setup)
1. Open a browser and visit: http://192.168.10.1
2. Go to: Network > Interfaces
3. Find interface waneth, click Edit
4. Under Protocol, choose the desired type:
- DHCP Client
- Static IP
- PPPoE
- L2TP
- DHCPv6
5. Click Switch Protocol, then enter the required credentials
6. Under Device, select: eth0
7. Click Save, then Save & Apply
Step 2B: Configure WiFi WAN (Manual Setup)
1. Open a browser and visit: http://192.168.10.1
2. Go to: Network > Wireless
3. Find interface pdev2 (used for WiFi WAN)
Option 1 – Scan and connect:
- Click Scan
- Select the target SSID
- Enter the WiFi password (PSK)
- Confirm and connect
Option 2 – Manual configuration:
1. Click Edit on pdev2
2. Under General Setup, enter ESSID
3. Under Wireless Security, enter PSK
4. Click Save, then Save & Apply
Routing & Load Balancing Behavior
- Default behavior: WiFi WAN and Cellular WAN are automatically configured in load-balancing mode
- For advanced policy-based routing or failover logic, configure mwan3 via Network > Load Balancing
Make sure the WiFi WAN interface is assigned to the wan firewall zone and uses DHCP client protocol unless otherwise required.
