[NUC] Information regarding the discontinuation of Intel® Wi-Fi Proximity Sensing
Announcement: To ensure the best user experience and maintain compatibility with the latest operating system updates (including Windows 11 24H2/25H2), ASUS has discontinued support for the Intel® Wi-Fi Proximity Sensing feature on all ASUS NUC products.
Why is this feature being removed?
Technology Lifecycle : Intel has officially moved this technology to End-of-Life (EOL) status.
OS Compatibility: The system architecture for Wi-Fi sensing has changed in recent Windows updates. To prevent driver installation errors (such as the "Yellow Bang" in Device Manager) and system instability, the feature is no longer supported.
Standardization: ASUS has aligned the driver strategy across all NUC models to ensure a consistent and reliable user environment.
How does this affect my device?
Driver Updates: Recent versions of the Intel ICST (Intel® Context Sensing Technology) driver will now have Wi-Fi Sensing disabled by default.
Official Website: Descriptions of Wi-Fi Sensing have been removed from product specifications and marketing materials.
MyASUS: The toggle for Wi-Fi Sensing within MyASUS may no longer be functional or will be removed in future updates.
Recommended Action: ASUS recommends that users install the latest drivers from the ASUS Support Site to ensure your NUC remains secure and compatible with the latest Windows security patches.
If you require "Walk-away Lock" or "Wake-on-Approach" functionality, we suggest exploring the built-in Windows Dynamic Lock feature or adjusting the Power & Sleep settings in Windows.
Applicable Models: ASUS NUC 14 Pro Series, ASUS NUC 14 Pro+, ASUS NUC 15 Pro, ASUS NUC 15 Pro+, and all other applicable ASUS NUC models.
